Arques walking routes starting at the lake, offers a magnificent view of the two main peaks of the forest Rialsesse. 2,000 hectares of Corbieres spanning 8 villages. Pine, fir, cedar, beech and oak trees along the route. Exceptional views of Arques valley and surrounding hills to the north. Pech de Bugarach to the South. West the Pyrenees Orientales chain. Look to and East and see the Eastern Pyrenees and Ariege.
The walk alone around Arques lake is a pleasurable trail. 7ha surrounded by evergreen Rialsesse forest. A good 30 minutes stroll.
Hike to Arques Castle and return approx 2hrs 30mins. Impressive Cathare fortress on flat land. Visit Deodat Roche Museum and see 10th Century Cathar history unfold.
Stimulating Walking trail to Serres Village and back through Arques Wine Vineyards approximateley 5hrs. A lovely picnic spot at the Rialsesse bridge where the Meridian Vert line is marked.
